Scenario-1:
*      Patient in ED with temperature 39 degree celscious, blood pressure 90/50, heart rate 135bpm-what is the nursing management?
Answer:
ABCD ssessment
TRAUMA ASSESSMENT: ABCDEFGHI
A-     Alertness/airway
B-     breathing
C-      Circulation
D-     disability
E-      expose and examine for more bleeding/stab wound/laceration, environment-warm
F-      vital aspects with family
G-     get resuscitation equipment ready
H-     head to toe assessment
I-       inspect the back by physician

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT TRIAGE
ESI-EMERGENCY SEVERITY INDEX
-5 LEVEL SYSTEM OF TRIAGE
*      1- Resuscitation –patient should be seen by provider with in “0” minutes-cardiac arrest/resp arrest/rds/bradycardia/tachycardia severe/trauma pt /chest pain/flaccid baby/anaphylactic reaction
*      2. Emergency – within 10 minutes-active chest pain/ a needle stick in health care worker/signs of stroke/r/o ectopic pregnancy/ patient on chemo with fever/ suicidal or homicidal patient/ pain above 7/10.
*      3. Urgent-30 minutes-2 or more resources
*      4. Less urgent -60 minutes -1 resources

*      Non urgent-120 minutes –no resources
