1. What types of exams are undertaken?
  • Computer- based testing (CBT)
  • Paper and Pencil
  • Oral Assessment
  • OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)
2. What are the formats of the exams? 
  • Computer- based testing (CBT): Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Paper and Pencil: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Oral Assessment: Clinical case scenarios
  • OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)
3. What are the exam dates?
  • Exam dates are announced on the HAAD website under Exam Schedule.
4. How many attempts am I eligible for?
  • The applicant is granted a total of 3 attempts to pass the assessment across the Authorities (HAAD, DHA, and MOH).
  • After the third attempt, the applicant is not allowed to apply for a lower or equivalent title.
5. How can I reapply for a second attempt?
  • To apply for your second attempt, you will be required to submit a new application through Dataflow and once your application is approved, you can book for the next available exam.
6. How can I book for the exam?
  • To book an exam, please follow the following steps:
    • Login to the E-licensing system https://bpmweb.haad.ae/UserManagement/login.aspx
    • Click on “E-Licensing” and select “Examination”
    • Click on “Exam Scheduling”
    • Enter your application number and click Search. The available exams according to your specialty will be listed.
    • Click “the green” button
    • Pay the exam fees and print your Exam Ticket
7. What should I do to re-schedule or cancel my exam appointment?
  • To cancel exam booking, please follow the following steps:
    • Login to the E-licensing system https://bpmweb.haad.ae/UserManagement/login.aspx
    • Click on “E-Licensing” and select” Examination”
    • Click on “Exam Scheduling”
    • Enter your application number and click on “Search” button
    • Click on “the red” button
  • To reschedule your exam booking with HAAD, please cancel your existing booking and book the next exam date according to the available Exam Schedule.
  • To cancel/re-schedule exam booking with Pearson VUE, please follow the below steps:
  • You may re-schedule / cancel your appointment 72 hours prior to your exam date by calling Pearson VUE Customer Service (Phone: +971-4-453-5380 between 08:30 and 17:00 UAE) or online.
  • Re-scheduling / cancellation less than 72 hours from the exam date is not possible.
8. How can I access the system to know my exam result?
  • To view your exam result, please follow the following steps:
    • Login to the E-licensing system https://bpmweb.haad.ae/UserManagement/login.aspx
    • Click on “E-Licensing” and select” Examination”
    • Click on “Exam Result”
    • Enter your application number and click on “Search” button
9. What is the validity of exam result?
  • A 'PASS' score is valid for 5 years conditioned by the Health Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR). Please refer to Gap of Practice in the PQR.
10. Can I get my exam result over the phone?
  • Exam results are not communicated over the telephone. This is to protect the confidentiality of the candidates.
11. How long does it take to finish the exam?
  • Computer- based testing (CBT)
    • 100-120 MCQs: 2 Hours
    • 150 MCQs: 3 hours
    • Oral Assessment: 30-45 minutes
    • OSCE: 30-45 minutes

12. How many people pass the exam?
  • No distribution curve OR pass limits is kept for the number of passing. Computer- based testing (CBT) exam score is computed by the total number of correct answers over the total number of questions. Oral Assessment/ Practical/OSCE exam score is the average combination of examiners scores
13. How many questions do I need to answer right to pass?
  • The number of corrected questions required to ‘PASS’ the exam is NOT communicated to the candidates.
14. Who writes the questions?
  • Questions are written by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the same field
15. Is the examination offered in languages other than English?
  • Exams are offered in English only
16. Will I get to know how many items I answered correctly? 
  • No. Exam overall results are reported as ‘PASS’ or ‘FAIL’ within 3 working days.
17. How do I prepare for the exam? 
  • Exam book references are available on the HAAD website for all Written Assessment. Please refer to the latest editions for the recommended references
18. Can I have my exam reviewed?
  • For security reasons, exam questions and answers will not be available for review by the applicant.
19. Are the same exams repeated?
  • There is no assurance that the same questions will appear again. The questions for each exam are different, but the content that is being tested on is the same.
20. Can I retake the test earlier to the allowed limits?
  • There are no set limits to retake the exam; candidates can sit the next available exam.
21. How can I print or re-print my Exam Ticket? 
  • Candidates can print or re-print their Exam Tickets from the e-Licensing system. Please log into your application https://bpmweb.haad.ae/UserManagement/login.aspx or approach HAAD Customer Service Counters.
22. How can I locate a Pearson VUE test center? 
  • A list of all HAAD Authorized Testing Centers is available on the HAAD website under Examination.
23. How can I get directions to a Pearson VUE test center?
  • Once you schedule your test, you will receive a confirmation email within 24-72 hours that includes directions. In case the confirmation email is not sent, please contact Pearson VUE to get directions via phone (UAE: 04 453 5380 between 08:30 and 17:00 UAE time, Saturday to Thursday, excluding Fridays and UAE holidays) or Email: haadcustomerservices@pearson.com.
24. What are the available test center days?
  • To view all available test dates, please http://www.pearsonvue.com/haad/
25. How long does it take to get my username and password?
  • Following your pre-booking with HAAD, Pearson VUE will send you an email within 24 to 72 hours with your username and temporary password to access your Pearson VUE web account.
26. How do I get a receipt for my exam appointment with Pearson VUE? 
  • You will receive a confirmation email once you complete your booking. The email will include details about the exam date, exam time, exam location and required documents for exam admission.
27. I have re-scheduled a test appointment using the Pearson VUE website. How do I confirm my new exam appointment? 
  • You will receive a new confirmation email once you complete your booking. The email will include updated details about the exam date, exam time, exam location and required documents for exam admission.
28. I have forgotten my Pearson VUE username and/or password, how should I proceed? 
  • Select your testing program from the test taker services portion of the Pearson VUE website
  • Select “My Account”
  • Click on “I forgot my username” or “I forgot my password”
  • Follow the instructions on screen
  • If you encounter any difficulties, please contact Pearson VUE to get directions via phone (UAE: 04 453 5380 between 08:30 and 17:00 UAE time, Saturday to Thursday, excluding Fridays and UAE holidays) or Email: haadcustomerservices@pearson.com.
29. What should I take with me on the exam day?
  • Please bring two (2) forms of original, valid identification (passport or other government/official identification such as driving license, employment governmental ID)
    • First ID must have your photo and signature
    • Second ID must have your photo
  • Please refer to your Exam Ticket for more information regarding admission-required documents.
30. How early should I arrive at the test center on the day of my exam?
  • You should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your exam scheduled time. Please take traffic and other possible delays into consideration when planning your trip to the test center.
  • If you arrive late (15 minutes or more), your admission to the test center will be at the test center’s discretion. If you are refused admission, payments for the exam and delivery fees are non-refundable nor transferable to another exam date.
31. How do I book for my exam seat with Pearson VUE? 
  • Following pre-booking with HAAD, Pearson VUE will send you an email with your username and temporary password to access your Pearson VUE web account. Please note:
    • The email will be sent to the email address you have provided at the time of registration with HAAD.
    • You are not required to create an account with Pearson VUE manually as this will be created on your behalf. Once you have been authorized by HAAD, you will receive another email with the details of your authorization.
    • Use your username and temporary password to login to the Pearson VUE website: http://www.pearsonvue.com/haad/ in order to schedule your exam. You will receive a confirmation email once you complete your booking with Pearson VUE.
32. Are all HAAD exams available through Pearson VUE?
  • Please refer to Exam Type on the HAAD website for information regarding the type of exam delivered through Pearson Vue https://www.haad.ae/haad/tabid/758/Default.aspx
33. Do I have to know how to use a computer to take this examination? 
  • No major computer skills are required to take the exam. A brief tutorial on how to proceed with your examination will be available for you before your start your exam.
